Getting your Deepgram key

Two minutes. No card required. $200 of credit to start.

Minutehand transcribes through your own Deepgram account, so you pay Deepgram directly rather than a markup to us. New accounts start with $200 of free credit — over 300 hours of meetings.

1. Sign up

console.deepgram.com/signup — email or Google. The $200 lands on the account straight away.

2. Make a key

In the console, open API Keys and create one. Name it anything; the default permissions are what Minutehand needs.

3. Copy it straight away

Deepgram shows the key once. If you lose it, delete that key and make another — nothing breaks.

4. Paste it into Minutehand

First-run setup asks for it. Otherwise: menu bar icon → Settings → Deepgram.

What it costs after the credit. About $0.58 per hour of meeting, speaker labelling included. Six hours of calls in a week is roughly $3.50.

Where the key lives. Encrypted on your Mac in macOS's own secure storage. We run no servers, so it is never sent to us — it only ever goes to Deepgram.
